Coldingham Bay

Another beautiful day.  The boys were off to BB’s football at what felt like the crack of dawn.  I don’t like it when we lose an hour, though I do like the light nights.  It took me a while to get going, but I eventually dragged myself out for a  run.  I only ran five miles.  Even though it was a lovely morning, I couldn’t summon up much enthusiasm to go any further.

The boys were home when I got back, and were planning lunch.  We then headed down the coast and had a lovely walk from Coldingham to St Abbs and  back again.  We did stop off to refuel at the café by the harbour in St Abbs and were most indulgent.  BB wanted a hot chocolate and chips – so TT ordered a large bowl of chips to share.  TT and I also had cake.  Chips and cake in the middle of the afternoon?  I reminded myself I had been for a  run and hadn’t had much for lunch!  Anyway it was all delicious.

It was then home for BB to do his cello practice (which included him trying to teach me something!), while I finished my book and TT finished cooking tea.  BB asked what my book had was about.  I had just finished the excellent Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, and told him a little about it.  He declared I should read Wonder next and went to get his copy for me.  TT had cooked up another fabulous curry thanks to the spice subscription I got him for Christmas – the gift that keeps on giving!

Here is Coldingham Bay in the afternoon sunshine.
