Quod oculus meus videt

Geese on Washbrook Pool

I was quite frustrated when this pair of geese swooped in and landed on the pool.  They spoilt what had been almost perfect reflections a few moments before.  In the end it didn't really matter; they glided serenely across the water and the reflections soon returned.

I was quite lucky to get this warmth of light.  The sun rose and was visible for a few short minutes before going behind the bank of cloud you can see in the background on the horizon.  By the time it had returned the warmth had gone, as well as the mist eddying just above the water.  I also saw one of the largest and healthiest foxes I'd ever come across on the walk down to the pool.  Unfortunately, no long glass with me and it was soon in the undergrowth and away.
