A sure sign of spring

Glorious sunshine and sparkling frost first thing - ideal weather for an early photographic expedition - but I had an early appointment to take the car into the garage to have the front brakes replaced!

After breakfast I walked to Thorpe Wood, hoping to find something photogenic. I was delighted to see that the first few wood anemones were in flower, at least ten days later than last year. Apart from  primroses there weren't many other flowers yet, just a handful of lesser celandine, sweet violet and early dog-violet. But I did see the nuthatch, who looks as though he might be nesting in the same woodpecker hole as last year.

Blipfoto tells me I've reached the grand total of 2500 blips today. Many thanks to all who drop by to look at my photographs, leave comments and other gifts. Even after all this time I still think this is one of the best sites on the internet, with lots of interesting people who are all polite and helpful. I'm sorry that I don't seem to have as much time to participate in the social side as I would like - I just need longer days to get everything done!
