Max Ernst in the Rain

Capricorn, perhaps the best known sculpture by Max Ernst (1891-1976). I took a late afternoon outing to the Pompidou Center, for a quick walk through the current hang of their their works from 1900 to 1950 (which I hadn't done so far this winter).  The weather was poor and this was the best exterior view I managed; there are screens everywhere, and this was taken at a sharp angle through the only clear glass available. Certainly not a premium blip, but it will have to do. Earlier Marylee and I paid a brief visit to my cousin Rosy's studio; she's putting together a gallery show of her sculputures which opens in a few days (unfortunately after our departure). We'd seen her in February; more on her and her family is here.
