Solid Light Works

We spent the afternoon at the Hepworth Gallery today, playing around with the Anthony McCall installation called Solid Light Works.  It's a projection of light in a slightly smoke filled room - you can step inside the projected shapes and it looks like the edges of the light are solid.

Apparently he started doing this sort of thing in the 70's in dusty warehouses that were full of cigarette smoke - modern installations need a smoke machine, and some of that was leaking out to other rooms in the museum...

Yes, ISO settings were insane, but I love the shapes!
