Stenkirth Park

We made an emergency visit to Kirkby Stephen this morning to buy a replacement towel for the holiday lodge. It's always nice to have a wander round the small town, lots of interesting things to photograph but, this time, we left our cameras in the car! Deliberately!

After lunch we went about 1 mile away to Stenkrith Park, land owned by the council and free for the public to walk. The cascades on the river Eden are very similar to the more famous ones at Ayesgarth.

In places the water has formed very striking sinkholes and round sieves The Man found someone standing in one of them, taking photos! I sometimes take a glass sphere (Extra) out with me. Not very successful today. The area I was refracting was in shade. Will try again!

It was our wedding anniversary (41st) today so nice to have a day out!
