Desperately seeking

Rescued!

It was one of the Wednesdays in the month when we go to a garden centre. Afterwards we had something to do at Bro-In-Law's house.

I heard The Man shouting: "Brian, have you got a blip yet? (Strikes don't let us take photos, they fear espionage!) If you haven't there's one curled up over here!" That meant only one thing so I stopped photographing earrings (now I understand how they open and can take mine out!) and ran out into the garden.

The Man was lifting a bit of plastic out of the way of our shots when the hedgehog moved, too! It turned out to be, probably, some modern form of mousetrap that had snapped shut on the hedgehog's paw. Poor thing!

You can see on the blip that the paw looks a bit swollen but the skin wasn't broken and, as it was only gripping one or two of the distal phalanges, we were sure he/she would recover satisfactorily.

Brian had some mealworms handy and very soon the hedgehog was crunching its way through them! See Extra for the happy ending.
