One day...

It is a fairly common for young people (and the not so young) to hire a kimono costume and have a bit of a makeover so they can wander the streets of the temples and Tea house districts in the appropriate attire.  And get some discounts at some of the local stores.  Strange to see these traditional costumes on people with mobile phones and hamburgers.  Even stranger to see the trainee geishas, much more heavily made up and with much higher shoes making their way to their places of work in the Tea House District of Kyoto where we are now.

I wonder if any of these young girls who are "dressing up" harbour ambitions to become a geisha?  It seems a strange occupation to me...

Too tired for poetry tonight!
