GI 2018 - Day 2

I popped in to see quite a few of the exhibitions this afternoon.

The one I have taken for my Blip was the most eye catching.   Its a gallery space I have been in many times but its been transformed into the rooms of a house each one more colourful and bizarre than the previous one.  This is the bedroom.

The paintings have pop culture figures, iconography, and art historical references , emphasised by repetition, graphic styles and defined black outlines, heavily drawn from comic book references.

The artist, Duggie Fields,  famously shared a residence with Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd.  Duggie was also the subject of a cultural phenominan in Japan in the 1980s and his likeness graced billboards and department store displays.
