Displaced

I spent an interesting morning at the Museum of Socialist Art in Sofia. After watching 30 minutes of propaganda films from the communist era, I went round the gallery where paintings from the time portrayed themes of rebellion, heroism and sacrifice. I then looked round the sculpture park which consists of items removed from more public display at the fall of communism, and includes the red star which was at the top of a tower on the Party headquarters in Sofia. I thought it rather apposite that this huge statue of Lenin is now overlooked by a building with a "Fibank" sign on top.
