On the beach

Eventually a lovely day today, though it was a while coming. We went down to the beach at Ardalanish at lunch time and had a picnic on the rocks overlooking the Paps of Jura. I felt sorry for people sitting in pubs in Birmingham or Glasgow while we were out enjoying the sunshine and incredible views! These two old souls seemed to have synchronised sticks!

Afterwards we found three fairly rare female Belted Beauty moths on our picnic  rock, one of them climbing on my rucksack. The females are wingless and look like woolly slaters, or woodlice. My extra today is of one of them climbing over my hand. I took probably 25 pictures of which only three were any good. Oh for a macro lens!
