Quod oculus meus videt

Homage to John Waterhouse

Missed sunrise, but not the early morning mist sitting in this low area across from the estate where we live.  The scene immediately reminded of the work of a local Staffordshire artist, John Waterhouse.  I've always loved his simplicity of images, in this monochromatic style, usually with the layering of hedges in country scenes.  To do true homage I processed the image 'a la' his painting style.

A beautiful day in the West Midlands.  We ended up walking through the fields in the distance and the only thing I regretted was wearing shorts and sandals (no socks, obviously!) and having to walk along some nettle festooned footpaths!
