NEW CROSSING....

.... this new walk bridge over the mighty Nepean River took ages to get off the ground, and with a budget of some A$49 million suppose it should look pretty impressive. Between the locals and the rowing club they lobbied for no pillon obstruction in the main stretch of river. This forced a number of design changes and then the need for it to be made on site which escalated the cost.

You can see in the background the present road and walk bridge and in extra some info on the first crossing by punt in 1815.

Check out the info here on this new one. When finished the supports you see there will be gone so will have quite a span.
Keep a watch later in the year for the opening and some shots from the viewing platform and crossing.

Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE
