Marsh Fritillary

A lovely sunny day today so following seeing  Popsie's blip I decided to head over to Chambers wood today to grab some shots of the lovely Marsh Fritillary butterflies. I was rewarded with seeing lots of them one even landed on my foot but I was unable to focus on it to grab a shot. I took a few shots and decided to go with this shot of the under wing I really like the way the sunlight is catching the wings. I have included a couple of extra shots 1 of a freshly emerged one just sat drying of its wings and also a shot of a four spotted chaser dragonfly. Some more of my shots can be seen HERE .
This afternoon and evening I have enjoyed my yearly feast of 4 rugby league matches all from the same venue with a further 3 tomorrow.
Now time for a few beers and a relaxing evening.
