Going to Work on an Egg

There was a time many moons ago when I ate an egg a day and was not only ridiculed by my family for this but warned off by the medical gurus who said it was the path to poisoning by salmonella and death by stroke.
Now it seems it’s not only fine to eat eggs every day but beneficial too. Why do the medics do this to us, tell us one year certain things are bad for us and then soon afterwards reverse their advice? Better research must be the answer.

This egg was the last in a box of 12 bought to make cakes for Son#2’s birthday my book group. The best by by date was the 15th May, but I was happy to hardboil it and have it for lunch today, hoping not to be infected by salmonella or die because of high cholesterol.
Apparently now, in order to limit the waste of food, the powers that be are thinking of omitting the ‘best by’ date for products.
