First visit

To see The Kelpies in Falkirk. We went with our friends J and G - J's originally from Falkirk and was our guide for the day. The Kelpies are great - you see pictures of tourist attractions and wonder if they will be disappointing in real life but these are well worth a visit, In fact the whole site seems very well done, with an interesting visitor centre with its neatly drawn timeline of the area and some comparison models to show the scale of The Kelpies up against some other famous monuments. After The Kelpies we went up to see the Falkirk Wheel - equally impressive as it did its thing of transferring canal boats from the Forth and Clyde Canal up to the Union Canal. And then we finished with a visit to Callander House - reminiscent of Camperdown in Dundee in some ways.
