Steps

As it was P and H's last night here in Finland, we proposed an after dinner walk. That it took place was quite an achievement given the amount we'd eaten and drunk earlier in the evening. Down to the bay and out to the point to enjoy an excellent sunset and to see that one of the pairs of grebes is having another go (having had an empty nest last Sunday) (but are still too close to the shore and too exposed to the vicissitudes of life), and the other pair of grebes appears to be still happily sitting on the first set of eggs. They are now completely camouflaged by the growth of reeds around the nest, so they seem to have every chance to make it through.

Earlier in the day we walked up to Seurasaari via Regatta, and then took a boat (a brand new service for 2018) back to Kauppatori. That's a great trip, taking in quite a variety of different more open and more enclosed spaces on the water. From Kauppatori we visited to the old market hall, and eventually headed home for dinner. Quite a few steps were taken (by me at least). A very enjoyable day in a **lot** of sunshine.
