Aberystwyth and Croft Castle

We woke early to blue skies and had a beautiful breakfast at the hotel including muesli, fresh croissant, fruit and eggs, beans, mushrooms and toast - and that was just me!! Re-fuelled and packed we headed off to Aberystwyth with the weather forecast promising some rain later on that morning. We had a wander around the castle ruins and the shops before the rain started so we jumped in the car and headed towards Hereford.
The rain literally hammered down as we crossed across Mid Wales and we thought heading straight home would probably be the best idea but we decided to put our trust in the Met Office weather app and continued on to Croft Castle. As we arrived the rain stopped and the sun shone! It was perfect timing and after a delicious lunch we had a lovely walk around their beautiful gardens as well as the castle.
On the way home we listened to the Shrewsbury match with our fingers crossed but once again it wasn't meant to be. The rain returned as we approached Shrewsbury as well as the thunder and lightning.
Apart from the football results, which have not gone the right way for my boys this weekend, the weekend has been amazing. Dan even got to see his favourite driver win in Monaco!
