Sgwarnog: In the Field

Flag

Returning to the Broad-bodied Chasers while they're still around, today it is the turn of the male to be featured. The Yellow Flag Iris seems to offer the perch of choice.

Earlier 13yo, 10yo and I had done a short circuit of the moor, out to Sconce and back. It was hotter than we thought it was going to be, so ice creams/lollies from the van in the car park seemed in order.

One Green Hairstreak came to join us at the side of the path at Sconce (extra), the first time I'd seen one in that part of the moor for a couple of years. There were a few Small Whites and one Large White in the community garden, where the allium display is as fine as ever (extra).
