Looking up

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
 — Lao Tzu
Literally: "A journey of a thousand li starts beneath one's feet." (Wikipedia)

It's three flights of stairs from where I park to where I live.
I've been here for fourteen years, often walking down but never up.
At Easter I felt drawn to walk up.
After walking up one flight fairly easily, I decided to try two.
What a difference a flight makes! But I persevered.
Sometimes my lungs complained first, other times my quadriceps.
Now I'm walking up all three flights. It keeps getting easier.

Extra: The first steps.
