Guest Hall

Above the West range of the cloister buildings lies a hall that we think was for quartering important guests, even royalty would have visited, let alone Lords and Bishops.
The presence of a fireplace suggests this was not a room for the austere canons.
Some traces of original flag-flooring remain, and the doorway at the end led through to the kitchen and the refectory.
These buildings are probably 14th century, incorporating earlier work in places. The final form of the vaulted roof likely dates from the early 15thC.
