Willow Ptarmigan

Aka the Alaskan Chicken*. The first of the natives to greet us as we entered the wilds of Denali NP.

First of 3 nights off grid. On way to our campsite we came across a few other natives including:

A pair of Grizzly bears doing what comes natural in Spring and a Snow Shoe Hare having a scratch. Unfortunately my phone doesn't allow extras.

* The town of Chicken just north of Fairbanks was to be called Ptarmigan but they couldn't spell it..!
