The Lozarithm Lens

Melksham (Sunday 10th June 2018)

After my weekly big shop in Melksham I wandered up and down the River Avon that runs near by (this is the Bristol Avon, by the way). I know there are a pair of swans with a family of cygnets there but they were keeping their distance, possibly because of the funfair that had been set up in the car park. I did surprise a heron when I walked down to the riverbank and watched it curl away and flap behind a tree.

I took this from Conigre Mead nature reserve and you can see Challymead Bridge carrying traffic in and out of the town on the Western Way. I realise this is rather similar to Tuesday's Wylye blip but that's just the way the white chocolate, fruit and nut cookie crumbled this week.

The wild poppies in Extras were taken near the Boat House.
