Lem's Cameo

I can't help myself every year I blip this outstanding rhododendron, sometimes more than once. Its a real beauty and is one of the most sought-after rhododendrons.

The flowers have a mix of pink, softest apricot on opening and cream with red spotting in the throat, flowering with large trusses in spring, this one is just outside my lounge. The new growth is just as pretty in a red mahogany colour sitting against the green foliage. Here the early afternoon sun, of which there is little, has just caught the petals.

Bitterly cold wind today, thundering clouds rolling by and tiny hints of blue sky between thick white clouds, a day of change with a high of 10C....brrr!!
Where has spring gone???

A trip to the hairdressers this morning had me hugging my coat as I briskly walked down the main street, the wind hurled about my newly exposed ears and my nose started to drip. I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked into the library where I melted with the warmth and my glasses got a slight mist over them for a couple of minutes.

I was looking for children's poetry New Zealand related, there wasn't much to offer but I came home with one book. I know I have another somewhere but can't quite put my finger on it at the moment, will have to look harder. Perhaps some local blippers can throw some titles, authors at me, no particular topic just New Zealand related even adults would be fine.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my Red Shed, rural landscapes is not really my thing but every now and then I have a crack at them, I enjoyed your comments and encouragement, thank you :)

Time for a cuppa and to take a look at your journals, slowly catching up.

Wednesday tomorrow - hump day as they say, the middle day of the week and on the down hill to the weekend, like the sound of that.
