Big blowsy blooms
The paeonies had been battered by Hector yesterday but thankfully survived. They have developed a bit of a lean but are not totally horizontal. The blooms on the pale pink one are as big as tea plates and crammed with frilly petals. The darker red one in the extra took a worse battering but was not permanently damaged. That one was moved from my Mum and Dad's garden when they downsized in the early 1990s. Apparently they don't respond well to being moved but this one must be happy. It was in their garden for many years and I reckon it must be at least 50 years old. The pale pink one is from a later era - early 80s. Both will outlive me as I have just read that they can survive for more than 100 years if they are happy. It seems to be Friday and the weekend again - enjoy.
