The other half

Good day of discussion with the Board doing some longer term planning, although the downside of being in a hotel for this sort of thing is that you eat too much and don’t move around enough!
Went for a quick walk around the village green at one point and there were 4 red kites swooping really low and circling the trees, but no chance of getting a decent photo with the phone.
Later on, we changed and boarded the minibus to head to Garsington opera. My goodness-another world. Stunning grounds with beautiful gardens and a lake, a championship level cricket pitch and gorgeous stately home in the middle. I’ve never been anywhere like it although clearly most people there were old hands. The tents scattered through the grounds and around the lake were set up for picnics and dinners. We had Pimms and canapés then went to the first act of the opera (Capriccio by Strauss) then back to our tent for dinner before the second act. As we finally emerged the tents were all lit up....magical.
Anna was waiting for me in the car park and we zipped back to her house for the night.
