Sgwarnog: In the Field

Veined

Resting my knees after yesterday's exertions I just popped out as far as the campus lavender beds at lunchtime. I'd thought this one was a Small White but when it shifted the angle of its wings in relation to the sun away from the sun its "green" veins became more obvious, making it my first of the summer brood of the Green-veined White.

Back home, in the community garden, a couple of Small Tortoiseshell, a Comma and Small and Large White.

It's 10yo's Sports Day tomorrow, somehow I don't think it will be rained off this year.
