If you can't beat them...

Male Sparrowhawk.

Mid morning "the Mate" arrived bringing two large parcels which had been delivered to the workshop.  It is so useful to have an address where you can almost guarantee somebody will be there to collect.  It was a "pre loved" (what happened to the word second hand) which we had bought.  Much of the rest of the day was taken up checking things and indulging in a sort of 3D tube puzzle.

Eventually having satisfied ourselves all was OK we took a load of hedge trimmings to the tip.  The surprise surprise another BBQ.  Well you have to take the chances when they are there.   As I was clearing things away Clickychick appeared in the doorway gesticulating  and whispering "bring your camera".

There sitting as bold as brass on the squirrel feeder was this lovely male Sparrowhawk.  It sat there for long enough for shots before disappearing through the trees.  I know some people don't like Sparrowhawks near their bird feeders but they do after all have to eat, just like the birds you are feeding.
