Dutch paintings from Cannon Hall

We loved the small still-life set up at Cannon Hall that accompanied their exhibitions of paintings from the Cannon Hall collection (+ one Rembrandt and one Frans Hals from London). We thought it was a lovely idea to get children drawing and engaged with the exhibition.

We also had a walk around the immediate house and grounds, something we haven’t done for ages.  They are doing work to clean out the lakes and possibly re-establish boating on the middle lake and it was good to see that they’d cleared out the marsh area beyond the `Fairy Grotto’ so that there was a small pool for the moorhens.
