Fortifying

I decided that cups of coffee were essential to lighten the moment of actually opening a packing case and starting the mammoth task. And it worked! Dad stopped beginning every sentence with "The trouble is ..." and we really grafted at seiving out stuff and chucked so much more than he was prepared to consider just under 2 yrs ago. I've not yet viewed the packing case mountain in the shed but this way of doing it in smaller bites is less overwhelming.

The idea is to get the house set up by moving his mobile home bits over and he can then start living in the place. "The trouble is ..." (I tell you, it's very catching!) we need to clear enough floor space and get the furniture organised in the right places so he can move around safely. Fingers crossed we can do it tomorrow now quite a few boxes have been unpacked.

The weather has been a bit cooler today, thank goodness. And the juddering car is down to worn brake pads but are OK for driving home. Big relief!
