Crossing

A few weeks ago, the first new bridge over the River Carron for about 100 years (according to the Falkirk Council website) was opened to the public.

The Abbotshaugh Footbridge (pictured, see also extra) links the communities of Bainsford and Langlees on the south of the river with those of Carron and Carronshore on the north. Today was my first trip out to the new bridge and I'm glad to see it was being well-used by cyclists and walkers alike.
