The Lozarithm Lens

Caen Hill (Sunday 15th July 2018)

I took one picture on Saturday, of a butterfly I hadn't seen before, resting on the windowpane, but when I looked at the image, it was out of focus.

I ended up at the top of Caen Hill locks on Sunday, almost as if I had some sort of routine, but that's obviously impossible. I'm told both adult swans were about although I only saw this one, busy extracting edible weeds from the waterlilies, but sadly I had it confirmed from one of the CRT staff that there are no longer any cygnets left from the brood of seven that hatched in Spring. Both the last two were sucked underwater, crushed and drowned by narrowboats going through the locks. He had shown the remains of one to the swans to give them closure.
