Wide Wednesday . . . OLD

I was in Nelson this morning and went looking for old buildings.  I hope you can see the reflection of the wooden church in the glass of a newer building.  The church is in the extra pic.  The church is or was the Presbyterian Trinity Church. The foundation stone was laid in 1849.   A dwindling congregation with an average age of 78 meant they couldn't meet the steep cost of maintaining the large wooden building.  It had its last service in 2015.  It has been on the market but was withdrawn last year when a deed was found from 1849 which restricted the land to church use only.
