Summertime Blues

Dear Diary,

Despite the heat and humidity, the pond is doing fairly well.  The water was so blue and the reflections and ripples so soothing.  I created a "painting" of it today.  I thought of my Mom, who loved the color blue.  Most people do, it is very restful.

It will be a blue day today in another way too as the memorial service for my two cousins who died this past year will be held at Black Cat this afternoon.  Despite the overwhelmingly sad occasion, we will try to make it one of celebration and joy.  We will remember them with love and hold on to each other and each precious moment of our lives.  Our best tribute to them is to try and live our lives with hope and compassion.
