Headed downtown to have brunch at Cafeteria (complete with ‘sticky bun’ ....a cinnamon and chocolate roll with maple syrup...shocking!) before a very peaceful cool time in the Rubin gallery with Nepalese exhibits and a full shrine in a meditation room.
Left there and wandered around the Village, up to Union Square farmers market which was great, with lovely produce and friendly stall holders. The sourdough bakers gave us some extra to try this evening and we bought cheese to go with it from the next stall.
Had lunch at Almond...a restauarant that K had been keen to try, which was lovely and a bit boozy! Walked again, up to the Flatiron building and to various shops - I didn’t find any more crockery at Crate and Barrel that I’d hoped to get though.
Saw some more amazing buildings ....the one in the extra was almost invisible against the sky and clouds
Straightforward trip home (thank goodness!) then we ate our bread and cheese and watched Anthony Bourdain’s travels around the Bronx.
