SILLY SATURDAY

Whenever we visited our local Waitrose at Wichelstowe, I mentioned to Mr. HCB that I would like to take a photograph of the Deanery Academy, a new school being built nearby, looking resplendent in purple!  It is due to open in September 2019 and will be an 11-18 Church of England Academy with a strong Christian ethos.  You can read more about it here.

We had never seen a building encased in such an eye-catching colour, and we have often joked that we hoped it wouldn’t stay that colour, because although it is my favourite colour of purple, at the moment, it is rather a “blot on the landscape”.

I was up this morning before 6.30 - in fact, just after Mr. HCB, and although he offered to come with me, I was happy to go off on my own.  The sun was shining and the building looked more deep pink than purple, but this was the because of the morning light.  When I parked the car and looked more closely at the purple covering, it says on the material that it is “weather defence” so I guess until the whole building is finished, this will stay in place.

So a silly-looking building, and also silly that I was up so early - but I did pop into Waitrose on the way back to buy the newspapers before going home for a cup of coffee and a warm bread roll.

We will soon be off to Jack’s - we didn’t go last week, so want to make sure it is still in business!

P.S.  Thank you for all your kind and supportive comments, stars and hearts in the last couple of days - I am feeling much better now, so hope to be back commenting soon.

P.P.S.  I will not say anything about the date, because certain Blippers don't like to be reminded - but in 4 months' time, if you are not a vegetarian, you may be eating turkey for dinner!
