Weed

We have problems growing sunflowers in the garden but this one was self-seeded in a hanging basket.  We think it may have been "planted" by a bird on our feeder.

Anyway it was thriving until I decided it was a weed and pulled it out.

Jane found it on the ground and rescued it by replanting it in a pot.  It has done well since and rather reminds me of the "weed" character in Bill and Ben from my youth (that dates me!)
