The Brick Train

We've gone up to the North-east of England for a few days - staying in South Shields.  On our way we visited the Brick Train in Darlington.
Driving up and down the A66 years ago I watched this sculpture materialise and went to have a look at it some time in the late '90s.  Today I decided to revisit (I remember my previous visit was in rain - rather better today).
Here are a few facts:
Commissioned and created in 1997 by David Mach
Modelled on the 1938 record setting 126mph steam locomotive "Mallard"
A total of 185,000 bricks were used in its construction.
