Ripening brambles

There are still plenty of brambles ripening along the cycle paths of Edinburgh. I blipped these ones when out on my bike this morning.

My second expedition of the day was to the charity shops of Leith Walk, then John Lewis. I was interested to see that some of my charity shop donations from earlier in the summer are now on display in the Bethany shop, although I think that they are rather ambitious in their pricing. £35 for a distressed old cardboard suitcase anyone? That said, I hope that all our surplus bits and pieces raise as much money as possible to support the eradication of homelessness in Scotland.

I made one purchase myself on Leith Walk. This was a small picture of a horse in a gold frame. As soon as I returned home I disposed of the picture and replaced it with a woodblock print of an angel that my not-so-little sister's ex-boyfriend created for us as a Christmas card in 1994. This is likely to appear in my journal soon, once it is officially on display on the study wall, to the right of Daddy hazelh's fish.

Exercise today: sit-up, weights and stretches; 10 mile bike ride; walking (10,759 steps).
