Truly Blippin' Marvelous

By JohnEdward

Exotic fruit . . .

once upon a time. I was introduced to it as Chinese gooseberry years ago and stubbornly still refer to it as such. China still produces over 50% of the worldwide crop. Ease of travel, the internet, and the explosion of image making has rendered the truly exotic harder to find. One of my first encounters of the exotic in California was seeing oranges growing on trees; and that reminds me of the time in England when our neighbour's grandchildren, visiting from the East End of London, marveled at seeing for the first time apples growing on trees.

Doesn't show much but the kiwifruit half on the left is golden; the other green.
