Misty crossing

Late this afternoon I took the Argyll Ferries passenger crossing from Dunoon to Gourock.

The mist had come down around lunchtime and there was a persistent drizzle. The ferry was also running late so when it finally emerged from the grey horizon everyone waiting on the pier was relieved, including me as I needed to be in Edinburgh at some stage this evening.

I caught this impressionistic picture at that moment , complete with the flash of a seagull’s wings closer to shore.
