Up and down

Down to Twelve Triangles in Leith for breakfast (gorgeous as always), then we had a little wander around along the shore, buying coffee for them to take home, looking at furniture, antiques and art before heading back up to the Portrait Gallery where G was keen to track down a portrait of Bonnie Prince CHarlie he’d read about. They both loved the place.
Had a little walk around town - trying to give them a sense of the place and the views etc without G having to walk too far. We passed the National Gallery and decided to take in the Rembrandt exhibition. Interesting to see the impact of his work and style on so many other painters, printers and other figures during his lifetime and afterwards, as well as close up looks at some iconic paintings.
Home via Grassmarket and Mary’s Milk Bar for the last ice cream of the weekend (delicious!) before home for a bit of a rest and cup of tea. K and I went up Arthur’s Seat so she could get the views and feel a sense of achievement....we got there and back pretty quickly, enjoyed it and had a good chat about stuff on the way.
We decided to get takeaway Malaysian and stay in to watch Bodyguard in the evening. Nice relaxing evening and the expected tense, good drama
