A nice surprise this morning...

... was finding a few butterflies were still about, despite the erratic and rather turbulent weather.

This small tortoiseshell was also quite well behaved for the camera, though there were quite a few failed shots as the plants responded to sudden bursts of strong wind.

Almost immediately after this shot, the rain poured down and I rushed for shelter, more for the camera than worrying about my hair!!
