Skip's Blips

Blipmeet with Clare (Tookie)

After I introduced her to Mabel, our Granddog and temporary dog-in-residence, Clare and I packed our picnic lunches and headed out for a day on the trail. We decided to eat first and then do some trail walking at Holden Arboretum. After lunch we started down the trail toward the Canopy Walk but didn't get very far before rain began to fall. We ran to a nearby bench, sheltered by a huge maple tree, thinking we could wait there until the drizzle stopped. Unfortunately, the drizzle became a downpour and thunder began to rumble. Suddenly, CRACK! Lightning struck, and it wasn't very far away. Sheltering under a very tall tree wasn't such a good idea, so we dashed back down the trail to the nearest safe shelter, which just happened to be Clare's rental car, and there we waited out the storm. (See Clare's blip here.)

After the storm passed, the day got better and better, with a little bit of trail walking, lots of chatting, and, of course, blipping. We decided to end our blipmeet with a perch dinner at Brennan's Restaurant in Grand River and a visit to Headland's Beach where I took this picture of Clare. It was a fun day, and I'm already looking forward to Clare's next visit! (Today's  extras are more pictures from Headlands Beach.)
