Empty Feeders

Today’s picture shows one of our empty feeders; the other one remained empty too for most of the day. It does show just a small part of one of our apple trees, still full of fruit. It was a cold, damp miserable day with a lot of rain.

I was up early to watch the Formula One qualifying and then we went into Wickes in Bishop’s Stortford for building material for my husband to re-plaster and fill holes that the electrician made as well as those left by the boiler fitter. We had assumed that they would make good where they had been. Apparently not, it is not their job. At short notice it is impossible to get a builder or a plasterer in to do the work, which must be done before they come to fit the kitchen on Tuesday.

I shall be complaining, as well as complaining that the boiler was turned off on Thursday and as yet we do not know when it will be gas tested; so no heating. We do have a Dyson heater, but that heats only one room. It is rather like when I was a child, you left the room with the cold fire and put your coat on to go elsewhere in the house.
