Apple harvesting

We started the day with Katherina (the Russian Party Princess) and Andrew at the Hearth café and artist studios in Horsley for brunch. Katherina, whose birthday is also this week, and Mr hazelh were both taken aback when a huge chocolate cake complete with candles was brought to the table. All the other customers joined Andrew and me in a rendition of 'Happy birthday to you'. I was quite surprised that the other three managed even a small slice of cake after wolfing down huge full English breakfasts. (I had a more modest breakfast myself.)

Afterwards we returned to my parents' house to harvest apples. My blip shows two of the happy harvesters, and the first extra our bounty half way through the picking.

Over the course of the rest of the day Mr hazelh and I have been chatting with my parents and showing them our three most recent retrospective photobooks. The latter is a long job with my father because he keeps falling asleep in his chair while we are showing him the old photographs.

My not-so-little sister with her partner arrived late afternoon, so we now have quite a party for the rest of the weekend.

There was a wonderful rainbow over Newbrough when I popped out to collect the papers with my parents mid-afternoon. I have included a snap of this as a second extra.

Exercise today: tiny amount of walking (7699 steps).
