Meet the latest addition to the menagerie.
Bro1 has his first very long awaited bird of prey. This little male kestrel has been rescued and rehabilitated by one of our local vets following an argument with a vehicle in the Lake District.
He’s blind in one eye hence the name and is unable to return to the wild.
We have all the relevant documentation from SNH and little Popeye will live out the rest of his years in the aviary built specifically for him in the garden. He may get a female friend for breeding in the future.
He feeds from the hand and will be a perfect starter bird for Bro1.
Plans for owning a hawk have been in place for years, he’s now one step closer.
