First day in Austin, Texas. View from the office.

After a 10.00 hour flight leaving London at 12.00 noon on Tuesday morning,  we arrived at 4.10 pm in Austin Texas.
We were met by Heidi and Matthew, after clearing Immigration in record time.
They whisked us off to their home, near Lake Travis. The weather had been extremely wet and the local dam had opened it's overflow sluice pipes. It was quite a sight to see the water thundering out and down into the Colorado River.
After dinner we retired about 9.00 pm, (being the equivalent of 3.00 am our UK time!)
We find it is the best way to combat jet lag.
The following morning we went to have lunch in the City with Heidi who was working, and a visit to Matthew's office building before a short walk to the impressive State Capitol building with him to have a guided tour around the inside taking in the grand architecture and a slice of Texas history with our young enthusiastic guide. As there were only the three of us with her, it was like a personal tour. She had the time to answer lots of questions. She told us you could fit the Statue of Liberty inside the height of the dome.
It poured all day and the local weather channel announcer had said that Texas had had 4 years worth of rain in 5 days!
I was too tired after dinner to write a Blip.
 Extras of the State Capitol.
