Prayer Tree

A gang of thieves stole the lead from the roof of our village church last week.  In so doing they damaged some of the wall and threatened to cause more damage to the interior by allowing rain to enter through the newly de-leaded roof.

So we attended Holy Eucharist today as a gesture of solidarity.  We normally attend mass in a town about 6 miles away, so it was very pleasant to walk instead of drive; but it was also good to pray in a different place, with different people and in a different way . . . as well as supporting them at this miserable time.

And there was the opportunity to look around the lovely old place, with this very attractive prayer tree in the side chapel and the area dedicated to Remembrance.
