Park Gates

Calm has been restored today and our houses have the all clear. The source of yesterday's gas leak was finally found under the path in our street. The gas had seeped into the drains and cavity walls and filled my neighbour's house and loft. Luckily they were away and no sparks caused an explosion. I'm glad it didn't happen on Bonfire Night.

Mary Stevens Park gates, installed in 1931 and recently restored. They are said to be modelled on those at Buckingham Palace .
